Amenities
As you are shopping around for a place that suits your needs and wishes, it's important to compare options and amenities between different places. But what should you start to ask? What's important?
Housekeeping
Cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, dishes, and yard work are all getting more difficult for you, yes?
Our Housekeeping Team is friendly, patient, and very particular. Hallmark is one spic-and-span place.
Housekeeping services in your suite are included, on a regular weekly basis, as it suits your schedule.
You'll get to know Ann, and our other amazing housekeepers.

Dining
We think the home-cooked meals at Hallmark are unbeatable. Our cooks are always dreaming up spectacular meals, new soups from scratch, special sandwiches, seasonal dishes with blueberries or other local treats, or something requested by a Resident. We hope you invite your friends and family over to join you, since this is your home. If you have a large family group, you can reserve the family dining room. You enjoy your company, and we'll handle the cooking and cleaning up.
Eggs Benedict at the Easter Brunch, Hallmark on the Lake
At Hallmark on the Lake Independent Living, you'll enjoy lunch and dinner, as well as complimentary fresh-in-the-morning baking in our coffee shop, which when combined with hot coffee, is a great breakfast.
At Hallmark on the Park Independent Living, we include three hot meals, including a full breakfast.
At both buildings, we have snacks and coffee at different times, sandwich plates, and ice cream socials, all included.
Shuttle Bus
Maybe you don't want to be driving too much any more, but you've still got that regular slate of appointments. Our shuttle bus runs two mornings a week in each of our communities, taking folks to doctors' offices, stores, family members, or other stops in the Abbotsford community. When you're ready to be picked up again, you just call, and our bus will be there shortly. It has a lift in the back, so even a bulky scooter works just fine.
Our shuttle bus also takes folks on afternoon day trips to special places like the Clayburn General Store, Bradner Flower Show, Devan Greenhouses, and much more. That's all included, and we hope you come along.
Summer BBQ Outing, Sumas Mountain
Activities
You won't believe the slate of activities our coordinators dream up every month, featuring everything from local fiddlers to children's choirs to Bakerview EcoDairy tours.
Summer BBQ Outing, Sumas Mountain
You can play bocce, Skip-Bo, Wii bowling, brain fitness, or bingo. How about a luncheon cruise on Indian Arm? A day retreat to Keats Island? A picnic up at a horse farm? Raspberry sundaes at Krause Berry Farms?
Parkside Location
The city council of Abbotsford caught our vision that seniors don't want to live at a mall, but would prefer to live in a parkside neighbourhood with shady paved trails. This was contrary to urban planning theory...but we think seniors probably are the best judge of what seniors want.
South View Across Fishtrap Creek Trail, Hallmark on the Lake
In the backyard of both Hallmark communities, a gently winding trail leads you into a paved, level city trail network that circles the award-winning Fishtrap Creek Park, home to herons, ducks, geese, squirrels, turtles, and busy beavers. Parkview suites in both communities overlook the pond, so you can watch the sunrises, sunsets, and changing seasons.
Come "video-walk" around the park with Marg for a few minutes, and meet the wildlife in person:
Wellness
At Hallmark on the Park Assisted Living, we have a round-the-clock Wellness Team of Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Care Aides. You'll have a necklace pendant and wall-button pagers, which alert them if you need something, and they are quick responders. Does that give you peace of mind? They also help with all sorts of what we call "activities of daily living", such as helping you with your medications or dressings, bathing, and a wide assortment of medical concerns.
Joanne, RN, Wellness Coordinator Team
Hallmark is one of the few assisted living communities that chooses to have Registered Nurses leading its Wellness Team. We believe that an RN can better advocate for Residents, calling your doctor or other professionals on your behalf, making sure you have the right combination of medications for you, and bringing a wider breadth of education to your situation. We think that helps with better "health care" for you.
Joanne and Nicole are our friendly wellness coordinators, with many years of diverse RN experience in health care. They will be happy to sit down with you, hear your story, and talk about how Hallmark can help you navigate the aging process.
Concierge
When you walk in the front door at Hallmark, you'll be greeted by our concierge. Concierges are the "answer people", helping you with virtually any question, and they can usually juggle six things at once. You'll be amazed at how much you just enjoy chatting with them too.
And Many More:
You can bring your small pet, since a pet is a very important part of feeling "at home". Our Residents have a number of cats and well-behaved small dogs. Some retirement homes will not permit pets, so if this is important to you, please inquire.
We help with routine suite maintenance, even things like unplugging toilets and changing light bulbs.
Bring your car, if you'd like, and at Hallmark on the Lake, we have secured underground parking. At Hallmark on the Park, your parking spot is just out the back door.
Basic Shaw Cable is included in every suite, and you can upgrade to different channel packages or equipment options.
Regular "Wellness Workshops", with discussions and presentations by guest speakers on a variety of topics.
All our suites are private suites, with private bathrooms with walk-in showers.
All our suites have kitchenettes with microwaves and refrigerators. At Hallmark on the Lake, suites also have stoves.
